Support & beta feedback

Support &
bug reports.

If a song won't load, the timing feels off, or something breaks, email support@downsample.app or send a report from inside the app. You don't need to know the cause.

Looking for the beta? The beta page covers TestFlight and Google Play internal testing. Android access is invite-only: email the Gmail address or Google account you use for Google Play to support@downsample.app.

Report it from inside the app

Open Settings › Notifications & Data › Report a bug. The same screen opens from Settings › About Downsample › Contact support / report a problem. Choose the kind of problem and how bad it was, describe what happened, and tap Send report. This is the fastest way to get something fixed.

Technical details are attached unless you turn them off: device and build information, recent errors, and what the app was doing. Tap Show exactly what gets sent to read them first. They don't include audio or account credentials, but they can include the title of the song you were playing.

If you're offline, the report is saved and sends when you're back online. Once it's sent, the app shows a reference. Mention it if you also email support. To report another player, use Report player on the Friends or Leaderboards screen.

What a useful report includes

  • Phone model and iOS or Android version.
  • Downsample version, shown under Settings › About Downsample.
  • Game mode, difficulty, and where the song came from: a local file, Plex, Jellyfin, Navidrome or another Subsonic-compatible server, Audius, or an included track.
  • For timing or sound problems, whether you used wired headphones, Bluetooth, or the speaker.
  • What you expected, what happened, and whether it happens again.
  • For visual problems, a screenshot or screen recording. In-app reports don't attach images, so email it to support@downsample.app.

Common questions

Is my progress backed up?

No. Career progress, equipment, and Galaxy runs are stored on your phone and don't sync across devices. Signing in or restoring purchases doesn't restore them, and removing the app or clearing its data can erase them. During the beta, keep the same installation.

How do I delete my online account?

Open Settings › Account & Language › Session and account data, then tap Delete Online Account & Data and confirm. You need a connection. Your identity is erased; leaderboard scores, Galaxy runs, and charts stay on the server, permanently anonymized as “Ghost Pilot.” Progress on your phone stays. If you can't open the app, email support@downsample.app with your player tag. The privacy policy lists what's deleted.

My TestFlight build stopped working.

TestFlight builds expire after 90 days. Open TestFlight and install the newest Downsample build. If there isn't a newer one, check the beta page.

How does Android testing work?

Downsample's Android beta uses Google Play internal testing. Email support@downsample.app with the Google account you use in Google Play. Once it's on the tester list, open the internal testing link on the beta page while signed in with that account, accept the test, and install Downsample from Google Play. Updates arrive through Google Play. If Play says the app isn't available, check that you're signed in with the account you emailed.

Notes feel early or late.

Open Settings › Audio & Accessibility and use Detect Latency or Calibrate by Tapping. Each audio output keeps its own tuning, so calibrate again with Bluetooth headphones connected.

Can I play songs from Apple Music or Spotify?

No. Downsample can import DRM-free songs already in your device's music library, but not songs from an Apple Music or Spotify subscription.

Feature ideas

Suggestions are welcome at support@downsample.app. During the beta I'm prioritizing bugs, but I keep a list. Describing what you're trying to do helps more than naming a specific control or screen.

Security reports

Email a suspected vulnerability to support@downsample.app with “Security” in the subject. Describe the issue and how to reproduce it, but don't include a working password, token, or key.

Privacy requests

Email support@downsample.app for access, correction, or deletion requests. The privacy policy explains what stays on your device and what Downsample's online features receive.
